ProjectsIvy Cottage
Contemporary refresh of a traditional cottage
Overview
Nestled beneath Froggatt Edge in the Peak District, Ivy Cottage effortlessly blends the contemporary with the traditional.
Originally a 17th century, stone built cottage, Ivy Cottage is now a modern family home with space to host guests and all the paraphernalia that comes along with a multitude of outdoor interests.
Timber beams, log burners and an open fireplace reveal the cottage’s heritage, while light and airy extensions make room for entertaining and the joys of family life.
The layout revolves around the client’s outdoor lifestyle and their cheeky labradoodle - for example, to contain the dirt collected on a lengthy hike, a dedicated muddy entrance leads to a drying room and shower room.
Even when inside, the Peaks can still be enjoyed as the luxury bespoke kitchen opens into a light-drenched dining area with scenic views. And, for sunny days, there is an outdoor cooking and dining terrace.
