ProjectsThe Straddle
Respectful transformation of Grade-II Listed Grain Warehouse
Overview
Constructed in 1895, the Straddle is a Grade II-listed former grain store that “straddles†the Sheffield and Tinsley Canal.
Prior to Covid, the Victorian building was an office space but had been empty for some time before being transformed into 27 apartments, injecting vibrancy and community back into Victoria Quays – a historic spot in Sheffield’s city centre.
By removing the stud walls the warehouse can be completely reconfigured, celebrating the original character of the space while creating a mix of modern accommodation, including studios and three-bed family apartments.
Each apartment has a bicycle storage facility to enable residents to travel around the city centre using environmentally friendly transport.
